Audition Information for A Christmas Story: The Musical
Audition Schedule
- Friday, August 23, 2024, from 6:30pm through the evening, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Reid Street, Hamilton, Virginia
- Saturday, August 24, 2024, 2:30-4:30pm, Ashburn Library, 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn, Virginia
You do not need to reserve an audition time but simply arrive some time during the listed audition times. The audition process takes about an hour. The early audition times are generally more crowded. The auditions take place in small groups.

Performance Schedule
Performances will run for two consecutive weekends:
- November 22-23, 2024
- One of the following:
- November 15-16, 2024, or
- November 29-30, 2024
Each weekend, performances will happen Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening.
Casting Info and Participation Fee
All parts are open for casting to include: singing leads, supporting singing roles, singing/dancing older teen/adult ensemble, dance ensemble, children's ensemble. Ages 8 and up are welcome to audition.
- Parts for adult women and men
- Speaking parts for talented boys ages 8-16
- Ensemble parts and some speaking parts for girls ages 8 and up
Please be aware that there is a $180 participation fee for each performer in every Pickwick show.
Children's Ensemble:
Come prepared with 16 bars of an upbeat Broadway Musical or Disney song to sing, memorized, with or without recorded accompaniment or karaoke on phone or iPad.
If children have had extensive dance experience, they may also plan to participate in the dance/movement audition and should wear comfortable dance shoes and clothing.
Lead and Supporting Roles and Adult and Older Teen Ensembles:
Come prepared with a 1-minute memorized monologue from another Broadway musical or play of a similar nature (upbeat/humorous, not too serious) and 16 bars of an upbeat Broadway Musical song to sing, memorized, either with or without accompaniment.
You will also be asked to read cuts from the script and should be prepared to participate in a brief dance/movement audition.
Dancers:
Come prepared to participate in a brief dance audition.
