There’s trouble in River City! When smooth-talking con man Harold Hill arrives in a small, tight-knit town in Iowa, he expects to dupe its residents with his elaborate moneymaking scheme: Despite his complete lack of musical literacy, he convinces everyone that he is a brilliant bandleader and recruits the boys in town to form a band, pocketing the cash for instruments but romance gets in his way. As All-American as apple pie and as charming as can be, The Music Man is a crowd-pleasing show with great musical numbers and the excellent talent and artistic excellence that Pickwick brings to its productions. A fun evening of musical theater for the whole family!
A choral singing experience for young singers, ages 9 – 16, focusing on correct vocal production & performance. Rehearsals take place in an encouraging environment where basics of vocal production, how to follow a score, and how to sing choral music requiring harmonization are taught. Performance skills are practiced and implemented in performances for Christmas events, concerts, rest homes, parties and other events. The Singers meet once a week to rehearse as a group, in addition to having a private vocal coaching session once a month. The Fall Session runs from Mid-October through the end of December. The Winter/Spring session runs from February to the end of May. Spring performance opportunities include Intermission performance for the Pickwick Players spring musical, a Mother's Day Tea, Leesburg Flower Festival, and Purcellville Music Festival! Tuition for the Spring session is $190 per participant.
